Conventions in our Thriller open

When making our thriller opening we need to consider four different aspects to make it seem like a thriller. We need to consider sound, camera, editing and mise en scene.

A camera technique that we will need to use is the close-up as it is used in the majority of good thrillers. Below are some pictures of how this technique is used to great effect. The 2 pictures are from the two thrillers Se7en and the Game.



The two both show some vital details for the rest of the plot and in the case of Se7en( bottom picture) the hands are freaky and immediately make the audience ask questions and want to find out more.
