Again by looking at this chart we can see The Departed was watched and rated more by a male audience aged 18-29. However the overall ratings of Male and Female are exactly the same. This links highly to Inception which also cast Leonardo Di Caprio as the main character. This shows to us that a main character can be extremely important in a Thriller movie as you need to hit both gender audiences.
Overall by looking at these audience rating charts from IMDB, we know as a production company that our main target audience will have to be Males aged 18-29. We also could touch on the Female audience but we know most of our viewers will be male. To achieve this we need to think about our films plot, characters, costume and musical score etc.
