For our Preliminary Task we need to ensure that we make use of a variety of , Shot Types, Camera Angles and movement. We are using this task to prove that we are capable of filming our Thriller Title Sequence. We have decided the genre for our Task is also Thriller which allows us to prepare for our main task later in the year.
Match Cut
For our Preliminary Task we have to include a Match Cut where a character walks through the door and cuts to the other side of the door through film editing. This creates a strong flow of action and continuity. This shows the examiner that we know how to film our piece and also edit smoothly in post-production.
This is an example of a Match Cut from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
